About Cliff Barden
"Since
studying photography at Nottingham Trent University I have worked
as a freelance photographer, specializing in editorial portraiture
and location photography.
I have photographed numerous people of differing backgrounds including
government ministers, violinists, surgeons and train drivers. Many
of my assignments have been in technically tricky commercial
and industrial locations such as store interiors and underground
stations. I also regularly photograph cars and other vehicles, ranging
from motorcycles to heavy trucks, on location, requiring both static
and tracking shots. My commissions have not been confined to the
UK, having undertaken assignments in Chile, Cuba, New England and
EU countries.
I am used to working as a team with art directors, designers and
journalists. However, I am often sent on jobs on my own and expected
to use my own judgement and initiative in coming up with an appropriate
creative solution. This entails going into situations that I have
not experienced before and obtaining photographs of a quality suitable
for reproduction in magazines. For the last five years I have used
digital cameras and am fully conversant with digital imaging technology
and delivering images to clients in a digital format.
My professional clients include: Haymarket Business Publications,
Emap MacClaren, Dennis Publishing, Miller Freeman Publishing, Andersen
Consulting (Accenture), The Sunday Telegraph Magazine, The Caravan
Club Magazine, The Grocer Magazine, The Food and Drink Federation,
Tubelines and SPAR."
